Well done.The first and only MCA Branch that was able to conduct a AGM physically in a proper manner. Surely, residents of Taman Sri Nibong will benefit from the activities of this Branch.

AGM for many years,some branches does
but just paper meeting,some branches
have 500 to 600 members but meeting
without quorum and only around two dozens attended.For your information
some branches don't even have their committee,anyway our elected M.C.A.
President is going to initiate Slimming Project of M.C.A. (Re-register each and every members) and issued them updated member's card with the latest photo attached.
In my opinion,M.C.A. need to be rejuvenate,reinstate good system and revamp procedures.
Can the MCA middle rung leaders really able to make a change for the better?
It seemed to me they cannot. We need totally new blood. They have been so habitually doing things at their own whims and fancies all these years so much so they dare to flout all rules and regulations and even to the extend of giving out untruthful news to the press for public consumption.
As a senior member of the Party, it irked me to hear in the public the condemnation of our leaders for being so shamefully issued an announcement in Kwang Wah Daily
Dated 02.05.2009 that four branches of Bayan Baru Division had conducted their AGM simultaneously at Sg. Tiram Coffee shop the day before 01.05.2009.
In fact, no physical meeting of these branches had taken place at all. The picture appearing at Kwang Wah Daily dated 02.05.09 showed 6 persons seating on one table. No members of the four branches or committee members are seen.
On the table are:-One is the Chairman of Bayan Baru Division, Two is Secretary of Bayan Baru Division, Third is Chairman of Youth section and three others who are only members of the appointed Division committee. Out of these 6 persons only two are Chairman of Branch.
To give you a better picture: I give you a greater detail of these mention four branches.
(1) PK 01 Sg Nibong Branch. 445 valid members – No Chairman and No committee seen. To have a quorum 148 valid members are required.
(2) PK04 P. Jerejak Branch. 36 valid members (Not valid) No Chairman no Committee seen
(3) PK05 Sg. Tiram 182 valid members Chairman present only) To have a quorum 67 valid members are required.
(4) PK06 Bayan Baru 375 valid members – Chairman present only) To have a quorum 125 valid members are required.
Therefore there should be at least 340 valid members present but we did not see
any of them, except the 6 present.
The spoke man said these 4 branches have young and professionals members. What a laugh. On checking with some members of the 4 Branches, we were told that no one had received any notice of the AGM.
MCA has come to such a sad situation.

I am a senior MCA member and i feel a shame after reading your comments. We as senior members should followed Party Constitution (rules & regulations) according to usual procedure:
Article 96
Notice of AGM shall be held annually in the month of April and at least 14 days' notice shall be given for a meeting.
Article 160
If there is a lack of quorum, such meeting shall stand adjourned for 1 week to be convened at the same place and time.
Article 15.1
Right of the members to attend and speak at all meeting which he is entitled to attend (340 valid members) It is astonishing to me that how can this 4 branches held their meeting at the same place and time.
What a laugh.......
Anyway i feel sad for our comrades...
